Testimonials
Allan Wernham
Managing Director, CMS Scotland
David Lee plays an integral part in shaping the annual business conference organised by CMS Scotland. He supported the inaugural conference in 2023, helped us take the conference to a new level in 2024 - and raised the bar again by bringing in more exceptional speakers in October 2025. His input, from the start of the planning process to the event itself, is vital to the success of our conference. He has a clear understanding of what we want to achieve, and works with the team to deliver that vision. He also delivers a crisply-written summary of the day.”
David Robertson
Investment and Business Development Director, Scottish Woodlands Ltd
David Lee is a highly skilled communications professional who is adept at explaining complex topics in a straightforward manner - as a video producer, event host, writer and editor. His ability to take a subject, understand the detail, and tell a compelling story, is second to none. Through PA Cooperative, David - with his colleague Neil Cuthbert - has helped Scottish Woodlands Ltd drive up its public profile, especially through a series of high-quality, punchy videos with clear and concise messages. David has an eye for what will look (and sound) good, and is also skilled at driving projects forward by ensuring everyone works together effectively and is clear about their roles.”
Ben Farrugia

David Lee has chaired Social Work Scotland's annual conference for the last eight years, most recently in October 2025. He steers us through complex agendas with humour, sensitivity and good organisation. The team finds David very easy to work with, thanks to his attention to detail, careful planning and proactive approach. His grasp of wide-ranging subject matter is impressive, and he conducts Question & Answer sessions with balance and skill.”
Jim McKay
Head of Commercial Services, Law Society of Scotland
David Lee has chaired more than 30 conferences for the Law Society of Scotland, including the 90th anniversary of the Paisley Snail case, a two-day international gathering of legal regulators, and sessions at the annual conference. He is an integral part of the Society's new partner conferences as our regular host, and played a central role in developing and hosting the Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Conference in 2024.
David is equally at home in an in-person or online conference setting. He handles panel discussions with senior legal, academic, political and business figures with a sureness of touch, combining detailed knowledge with deft humour - and always works in close partnership with the Law Society team to ensure conferences run smoothly and offer the best experience to delegates.”
Lord McConnell
Chair, McConnell International Foundation
David Lee did an excellent job of chairing an online conference on volunteering and global citizenship hosted by the McConnell International Foundation in November 2023.
His hosting skills helped the event to run very smoothly and his expert questioning got the best out of a wide range of speakers. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a highly accomplished event host.”
Dr Fiona Armstrong
Global Director of Research Engagement, Heriot-Watt University
Heriot-Watt University has worked closely with David Lee since 2022 to develop its Inaugural Impact Programme, aimed at sharing high-quality research with broader audiences across a range of media, including panel discussions and podcasts. David works closely with our team and the professors involved to understand the important issues, and ensure we get the best out of each event. He then conducts the panel discussions and podcasts in a thoroughly professional and engaging manner. David has been an important part of this new approach from the university and I would recommend him to others as a skilled and good-humoured host, able to turn his hand skilfully to a variety of formats and subjects.”

2020 Together Group
The 2020 Together Group engaged David Lee on a complex project to produce a video and manifesto to highlight the unfairness of nursery funding in Scotland. David took time to understand our objectives clearly, worked closely with us to draft a video script - and brought it to life through skilful interviews with 8 individuals in 4 different locations.
He worked with videographer Andrew Mulligan to create a high-quality, impactful video - which told a very clear story and met, and exceeded, our expectations. David's skilled editing was crucial in the video's impact.
David then wrote the text for our manifesto document and brought in designer Ross Russell to create another excellent product. The Group will certainly work again with David and his wider team of highly-skilled, creative professionals.”
Stuart Goodall
Chief Executive, Confor: promoting forestry and wood
David is a versatile and proactive media professional who has played a key role in transforming Confor's communications - as an event host, writer and PR adviser. He led Confor’s move to online events, skilfully hosting numerous webinars - and then slipped back seamlessly into in-person events, - helping to shape (and hosting) our landmark annual events, a policy conference in London and an awards dinner in Edinburgh. He has an excellent grasp of politics and policy as it impacts on our sector, and handles discussions in an even-handed way, but is never afraid to ask challenging questions.”
Adam Fenech

David Lee is an increasingly accomplished podcast host who has worked with The Scotsman and various partners on a range of podcast series - including Data Capital, FutureWork (with Skills Development Scotland), A Greener World Needs A Plan (with Royal Bank of Scotland) and Sustainable Scotland.
David brings his journalistic skill, eye for detail and very human approach to all the podcasts he has worked on. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him as an excellent host who is always willing to listen and learn.
Mark Baillie
Communications and PR Manager, City Region Deal Data-Driven Innovation Programme, University of Edinburgh
David has worked on several projects across a range of media with the Data Driven Innovation initiative. This has included hosting 5 full-day data conferences (2 online & 3 in person) and around 20 podcasts and panel discussions.
The September 2024 conference saw David shape a highly relevant and thoughtful agenda on Disinformation, Deepfakes and Democracy. He then hosted the conference expertly, getting the best out of both speakers and subject matter.
David is always full of ideas about how to improve agendas and can spot potential problems, and resolve them. I'm happy to recommend his skills to other potential clients.”
