DLME Associate scoops prize at Wincott Awards

Journalist and copywriter Peter Ranscombe has been named "Journalist of the Year: UK Nations & Regions" at the Wincott Awards.

Former Financial Times editor Lionel Barber presented Peter with the prize for his work in The Business supplement within The Press & Journal newspaper at the Mansion House in the City of London.

Peter - who works with David Lee Media & Events (DLME) on a range of projects spanning copywriting, podcasting, and media training - was also shortlisted in the Wincott's Personal Finance Journalist of the Year category for his "Your Money" column in Scottish Field magazine

His Scottish Field column has also earned him a berth as one of the finalists for the Financial/Business Journalist of the Year prize at the Scottish Press Awards, while his Press & Journal articles have led to him being shortlisted for the new Regional Feature Writer of the Year trophy in the same awards.

Peter is on a roll after being named Business Writer of the Year at the Highlands & Islands Media Awards in February for his features in The Press & Journal.

David Lee, founder and director of DLME, said: "Peter is winning awards for the simple reason that he is an excellent journalist. It's brilliant to have someone with such talent and high standards working with DLME on a range of different projects.

"It's especially helpful when we offer media training to have a working journalist at the top of his game in the room. Peter knows what the media wants and asks the right questions to help deliver it.

"I wish him every success with his latest nominations and look forward to continuing our successful and very enjoyable working relationship - with the odd craft beer and bad joke thrown in."
